So today I had to ride the city bus to become familiar with the routes since I was recently hired as the Marketing Assistant for CityLink. I was on the bus from 10-1:30. SERIOUSLY. I got lost because I was given some false instructions (will be bringing that up during my meeting with my boss!) and let me tell you.... I am extremely thankful to have my own car. You all should be too. The people that ride the city buses are much less fortunate and probably have never/will never have the opportunity to go to college or anything along those lines. I people watched a lot since I was floating around Peoria for about 4 hours. I then took a nap for 2 hours. It wore me out switching buses and stressing out, let me tell ya!
I don't think I will be doing that again. Definitely not willingly! Yay for Wednesday being over... closer and closer to the weekend!
I had to ride the Peoria buses once when my car was broken...it was awful. I don't blame you for not wanting to do it again!
ReplyDeleteI have to agree that a lot of us need to realize how lucky we are. I've had my car at Bradley since freshman year and it has been extremely convenient. But there are so many people that can't afford personal transportation. It's definitely important to step back from time to time and recognize that we should be grateful for how fortunate we really are.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and good luck with the new job!

You are a brave, brave soul! I remember having to catch CityLink a couple times freshman year....needless to say I made my parents let me bring my car up to school second semester haha. Luckily, you probably won't have to do that much anymore I take it...
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of stuff will you be responsible for in that role?
